Isaiah 54:16-17

I needed a reminder this week. A reminder that God is who He says He is. Even though He reminds me frequently, I am human and my humanness fails a lot. The news' headlines can be frightening in our human mind. As a Christian, it can be exciting, because I know that when things become their worst down here, He will be coming in the clouds. But I'm human and I forget the important truth of living in chaotic times. I forget that He planned for me and for you to be living in the exact times we are living. He knew who He put in every age past and every year to come. I forget that He prepares His children for what He calls them to.

This last week I told God exactly that. I told Him my feelings because He's bigger than them and He can carry them when I can't. And just like the times before when I've asked for reassurance, He put Isaiah 54:16 in my mind. As I read, I saw verse 17 too.

Friend, if you've been looking at the headlines or even the world around you, if you're discouraged by them, let these verses remind you as they reminded me.

He made those who create the chaos. The comfort about that is that they cannot do A SINGLE THING that He doesn't allow. If He allows it, He will see you through it.

Any weapon that is purposed against you WILL NOT move forward. It won't bring any profit to the one who created the weapon.

What about the words spoken against you? He said YOU get to tell those words that they are WRONG. YOU get to CONDEMN them!

This is the inheritance of the servants of the Lord Jesus! Do you know what's great about an inheritance? It's already available! The children inherit what they didn't work for! And that word "servant" specifically points to the worshippers of the Lord. If you worship the One True Living God, you don't need to worry.

Our righteousness is of Him. Oh how freeing this is. All of this truth is enough to make this girl have church while walking on the treadmill in the gym.

He does that for us though. He meets us where we are physically, emotionally, spiritually, and mentally, and He gives us what we need.

“Behold, I have created the blacksmith who blows the coals in the fire, who brings forth an instrument for his work; And I have created the spoiler to destroy. No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord.
